Alex Murphey, MD

Dr. Murphey treats all aspects of general otolaryngology and specializes in otologic surgery and hearing restoration. Originally from Augusta, Ga., Dr. Murphey graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Georgia. He then completed medical school at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Medical Honor Society. He completed a surgical residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. After residency, Dr. Murphey spent two years practicing in Alaska where he traveled across the state treating the Alaska Native population. Dr. Murphey lives with his wife, Katherine, and two kids in Oconee County.
