Injection rhinoplasty is a non-surgical medical procedure in which injectable fillers are used to change the shape of the nose, correcting irregularities and deformities without the need for invasive tissue cutting. It is a temporary solution best suited for those with minor defects. Injection rhinoplasty is a complex procedure that should only be performed by a highly trained specialist.
Injection rhinoplasty has a number of limitations that keep it from being a viable solution for everybody. Since it’s considered an augmentation procedure, it can’t reduce an oversized nose, and won’t correct functional problems. It is, however, useful for filling in depressions, lifting the angle of the tip and adding volume to a flat bridge.
It can also help smooth the appearance of bumps, enhance a retracted nasal septum and correct minor deformities related to a failed traditional rhinoplasty. A curved nose can be made to appear straighter. It’s a short-term solution, and its effects last approximately six to twelve months, but it is considerably less expensive than a surgical rhinoplasty and provides immediate results.
While avoiding surgery may be tempting, keep in mind that an injection rhinoplasty is temporary. In order to maintain the results, you’ll have to schedule periodic follow-up procedures at our Barnes Facial Plastic Surgery.
